Reaction to bombing
negative
So the big, bad Republicans,
led by head elephant George W. Bush, are trying to pin the tail
on a donkey named Osama bin Laden.
Somehow, the blindfold
is a bit too tight, and the United States cannot see where
its targets lie, as we are spun around one too many times.
Our country is
proudly flying stealth bombers over already poverty-stricken
areas of Afghanistan, hoping to target the suspected mastermind
behind the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. Revenge is the only
word running through our angry hearts and minds.
Instead of bombing
bin Laden, who has not even been convicted of these heinous
crimes, we are engaging in bilateral warfare with Afghanis
who have little to no defense against our advanced technology.
No, bin Laden is
still not dead, as his very living image splashed across news
stations worldwide slapped Americans in the face. And we have
left behind a trail of rubble and bodies in Afghanistan, while
showing little remorse for our inexcusable actions.
If we finally pin
the tail on bin Laden, will this be the end of terrorism?
Most definitely not. The network of terrorist organizations
around the world is too widespread, and our bombing campaign
will stop at most only a fraction of them.
Even if we succeed
in killing or capturing bin Laden, Al Queda will likely continue
in his absence.
Other countries
fear for a Holy War. Protests are being held around the world.
Other countries wonder why the United States is retaliating
so forcefully against something that has not even been proven
true.
Meanwhile, Americans
continue to fly their flags. Why are we so supportive of this?
Every other country is protesting war. They are protesting
in the streets, even going so far as to burn effigies of our
president. Everyone else can see what is going on, but the
war that is right under our noses keeps on going.
Bombing of innocent
Afghanis continues. We sit back and watch, glued to our television
sets 24 hours a day. The game of pin the tail on bin Laden
drags on, but the target is nowhere to be seen. How much blood
will have to be shed for this game to end?
