campus voice:

What do you think the United States' next course of action should be against the war on terrorism?

Laura Lacar
"In World War I and World War II, there were different countries we were going against. This is one group. It's really hard to say who the enemy is. [Afghanis] already live in poverty. What they live in now is hell. I don't see how going there and killing innocent people is the same as the innocent people being killed here."
-- Laura Lacar, senior, math education

"I don't know because I don't think we should go to war. We have better uses for our resources than to go to war. I'm not necessarily sure what we should do."
-- Tamari Zeigler, freshman, undeclared

Edwin Lemus
"I think it's really hard to just bomb one country. It would be great to get an international coalition against this small group. They should really take their time with what they're doing. I'd hate for them to think this is a Holy War. If it were up to me, I'd do some secret stuff, try to get them to find whoever's in this cartel. We also need to stop tripping on Muslims. Everyone's scared."
-- Edwin Lemus, junior sociology
"I think they should just be patient and wait for the right opportunity to do something. They need to be careful not to kill any civilians. I don't think they should just start dropping bombs unless Afghanistan starts fighting us.
 -- James Urrutia, freshman, undeclared
James Umutia
Tomoko Matsumoto
"I was talking with my friends. American people say "God bless America." American people should think about what's been done in the past to other countries. It's so complicated."
-- Tomoko Matsumoto, sophomore, anthropology
"I guess we should attack the Taliban and get rid of Mr. bin Laden by any means necessary. It will solve the problem for the time being. But we'll probably have to fix the governments that don't work, such as the Taliban, Afghanistan, and Iraq."
