University Police
has a list of reports that informs the community of suspicious
activity around the Cal State Long Beach area. The list can
be viewed on the Internet at activitylog.upd.csulb.edu.
A pair of stolen
auto cases reported at CSULB
A
1997 Honda Passport, which was valued at $12,000, was reported
stolen from the fifth level of the parking structure Thursday.
A
red 2001 Yamaha R6 motorcycle was taken from Lot 5 Tuesday,
Oct. 16. The motorcycle was valued at $9,000 and was partially
recovered. The Whittier Police Department recovered the engine
and the engine frame only.
Fires heat up campus
University
Police and the Long Beach Fire Department responded to a fire
alarm and numerous calls from the Foundation Building, where
a small electrical fire had ignited Monday in a mechanical
room.
University
Police responded and assisted in a vehicle fire Thursday in
Lot 14.
Grand thefts target valuable possessions
A
report was made regarding a $600 blue 21-speed GT Aggressor
mountain bike, which was taken from the bike racks near the
Liberal Arts 5 Building Monday sometime in between 5:30 and
6:45 p.m.
Two
bags were reported taken from the women's locker room of the
Physical Education Building. The bags and their contents ?
a wallet, a mobile phone and clothing ? were valued at $620.
Vandalism strikes
automobiles in campus parking lots
The
right rear panel window of a 1985 Chevrolet Suburban was smashed
in Lot 14 C Monday. There is currently no estimate for the
cost of repair to the window.
A
derogatory comment was keyed into the front hood of a 1990
Acura Integra, which was parked in Lot 19 Saturday. There
is currently no estimate for the cost of repair to the scratch.
In
Lot 20, a blue 1997 Toyota was scratched from front to back
Wednesday, Oct. 17. The cost of repair is approximately $200.
The
rear passenger window of an automobile parked in Lot 20 was
smashed and the stereo was reported missing Wednesday, Oct.
17.
Suspect apprehended
at CSULB
Eyid
Al-Miar, whom the city of Santa Ana had issued a $10,000 warrant
for his arrest for failure to appear to court on a traffic
violation, was apprehended on campus Monday.
Petty thefts cause
petty trouble
A
wallet and cash, valued at $117, was allegedly taken from
the Sunset Lounge of the University Student Union Tuesday.
A
$250 Giant Cypress 10-speed bike was reported stolen from
the bike racks at the Physical Education Building Wednesday,
Oct. 17.
A
$300 green 18-speed Mongoose bike was taken from the bike
racks near the University Student Union Saturday.
Suspected burglary

A
student reported that a laptop was taken from the dorm room
Thursday.
