The Career Development
Center will host the Reach Out Today Volunteer Fair Wednesday
from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in 0the University Student Union Ballrooms.
More than 75 nonprofit community service and government agencies
will be on hand to offer volunteer opportunities and internships
for students. Organizations ranging from the United States
Secret Service to the American Red Cross will have representatives
present to seek new volunteers.
Students are able to develop their skills and gain valuable
work experience, apply classroom learning and explore career
interests by serving in a volunteer position, according to
Cindy Hale, coordinator of Educational Participation in Communities
Volunteer Services.
"The Volunteer Fair is a great way to show that you can
make a difference in the community," Hale said. "We
want to encourage people and contribute to people's lives."
Students are encouraged to bring a resume to the fair and
approach people as if they were an employer.
"The fair helps students explore and decide if they want
to go into a certain field," Hale said.

Fair link at www.careers.csulb.edu.
