Gov. Gray Davis
announced today that he is no longer requesting that mail-opening
operations stop in state agencies and departments.
Cal State Long Beach received the announcement to cease opening
mail Tuesday after a letter containing anthrax was sent to
Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle, D-San Diego, in Washington,
D.C.
The California Highway Patrol is still offering classes in
safe mail handling, and CSULB will offer the workshop shortly.
The CHP has a video on biological threats available at http://governor.ca.gov
and mail-handling guidelines are available at http://oes.ca.gov.
