Bring your resume
By Tom Carey

More than 180 employers
will be on the hunt Wednesday for new employees at the Fall
2001 Job Fair being held from 1 to 5 p.m. in the University
Student Union.
Peggy Murphy Hayden,
coordinator of the Job Fair and comprehensive services at
the Career Development Center, urges the campus community
to utilize the employment opportunities available.
"I would recommend
that students take full advantage of an employer coming to
them, this kind of service doesn't happen when you leave,"
Hayden said.
Students from all
classes and majors are encouraged to attend the fair, according
to Hayden, as employers are looking for students to fill full-time
jobs, part-time jobs and internships.
"Many of the
employers are looking to hire people who are graduating, but
there are also employers looking to hire students for part-time
jobs," Hayden said. "I would recommend that students
bring current resumes with them because that's what employers
are going to be looking for, to connect with the students."
Students are also
encouraged to wear nice attire to set a good impression, Hayden
said.
Companies ranging
from the CIA to Pepsi will have representatives at individual
booths throughout parts of the USU, including the South Plaza,
the courtyard and the hallways.
According to Hayden,
the companies will be grouped together in common areas to
help students find them easier.
Students can find
out which employers will be attending the Job Fair at www.careers.csulb.edu.
