Hard-working employees
and hard-drinking customers abounded at Joe Jost's in Long Beach
Sunday to raise money for the American Red Cross.
From 10 a.m. to 5
p.m., all money and gratuities made were donated to the Red
Cross.
Regulars brought their
families, and bartenders, who dressed patriotically in red or
navy blue Joe's T-shirts, kept the taps flowing all day long.
The grand total raised
Sunday was $8,492.99, said Shawn Flathers, manager at Joe Jost's.
Flathers had predicted the event would raise $3,000 to 6,000,
a goal that was far exceeded.
"There was a
great turnout," Flathers said. "It was better than
I thought. People were doing their part. It was a great day."
