What can I do
to help?
Students and faculty
who wish to help the victims of the terrorist attacks in New
York and Washington, D.C. may contact numerous groups organized
to deal with large-scale disasters of this kind.
Those wishing to
donate blood are encouraged to visit the nearest center.
- Veterans' Affairs
Hospital on Seventh Street and Bellflower Boulevard will
be accepting donations. Veteran's Affair Hospital on Seventh
Street. Interested parties are asked to call Debbie Ludke
at (562) 494-2611 ext. 2823.
- Alfa Therapeutic
Corporation located at 1633 Long Beach Boulevard is currently
accepting walk-in donors Monday through Thursday from 6
a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Friday through Sunday 6 a.m. to 4
p.m. For more information call (562) 591-5324.
- Long Beach
Memorial Medical Center, 2801 Atlantic Avenue will be accepting
blood donations. Call (562) 933-0808 for an appointment.
- Red Cross Blood
Donation Centers may be contacted at (800) GIVE-LIFE.
- To volunteer
medical services call 1-800-801-8092.
- To volunteer
general services, call (518) 431-7600.
- To make financial
contributions call 1-800-Help Now or 1-800 Sal Army.
Several phone lines have been set up to assist those who have
friends or family that may have been affected by this event.
Relatives and friends
of people who wish to inquire about employees at the World
Trade Center may call (866) 326-3188.
- Those who would
like to inquire about employees of Morgan Stanley, the largest
tenant of the towers, call 1-888-883-4391
- For information
about the American Airlines flight call 1-800-245-0999.
- For information
about the United Airlines flight call 1-800-932-8555.
- For information
on employees of the Pentagon, family members may contact
Service representatives. For the Army call 1-800-984-8523.
For the Navy and Marine Corps call (877) 663-6772. For the
