The following was compiled by Eureka, a non-profit organization that uses resources the "Current Labor Statistics" from the Monthly Labor Review by the U.S. Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics and the "California Job Journal" from the Job Journal, Inc. The 2001 report projections were done by the Occupational Employment Statistics Survey and project employment until 2008.

Civil engineers
California pay varies based on level of education and length of experience. A graduate degree earn higher entry pay than a bachelor's degree. Many start as an assistant engineer and go on to associate engineer.
• Entry pay ranges from $1,775 to $3,157 per month.
• Experienced pay ranges from $2,200 to over $4,960.
• Top pay ranges from $4,875 to over $8,800.
• Total Jobs: 30,200

Aerospace engineers
California pay is higher in private industry than government. A master's degree or Ph.D. earn higher pay than with a bachelor's degree. Pay also depends on level of experience.
• Entry pay ranges from $2,163 to $3,455 per month.
• Experienced pay ranges from $2,219 to $5,500.
• Top pay ranges from $4,795 to $8,800.

Nuclear engineers
