Knott so scary
farm
By Alisha Gomez
On-line Forty-Niner
Spooks, screams,
goblins and ghosts echoed and prowled Knott's Scary Farm at
its 29th Halloween Haunt.
Decked in cobwebs,
spiders, fake fog and eerie music, Knott's Scary Farm did
its best to frighten and freak youngsters, teenagers and adults.
Many shows entertained
and awed people with their deranged humor.
As people walked
through the haunted park, young girls and old girls alike
were heard screaming and then seen running from monsters and
ghosts.
Everyone knows that
"all girl" groups were the ones being taunted and
stalked by the all the ghosts, goblins, ghouls and monsters
that lurked.
Although everyone
laughed at those screaming out, they were still leery of the
prowlers walking around.
Mazes had long lines
and did their best to scare the living daylights out of people.
Beware of the fake
fog because you just don't know who will come out and spook
you while you're blindsighted.
Try to avoid it
as much as possible. You really cannot see more than a foot
in front of you when you are in it.
Ghostrider, the
roller-coaster, was high speed in action. Even with the long
line, people were ready to wait. Once on, you go for drop
after drop at a fast speed, hurling toward more and more drops
only to end at once.
Then, relief catches
your body: you made it. Trying to walk after Ghostrider is
like trying to walk with weak knees.
"The Hanging,"
starring The Crypt Keeper, was hilariously entertaining. Lots
of slapstick comedy headlined this act. People gathered and
laughed their heads off.
The Crypt Keeper
made a guest appearance along with the Bush Twins, who the
Crypt Keeper deemed as America's worst outlaws.
All around the park,
glow necklaces, glow sticks and glow mouthpieces made their
appearance. Somewhat symbolic of the Halloween spirit, everyone
was into it even though it was only the first weekend in October.
Security was heightened
and everyone was searched with metal detector wands to ensure
safety and everyone's bags were intensely poked and checked
to make sure no one was smuggling in any illegal products.
Expect long lines
and a good one to two hour wait for just about everything.
It was insanely
busy for being the first weekend that Halloween Haunt opened.
As we get closer to Halloween, it will only get busier.
If you have not
been to Knott's in a while, you will appreciate some of the
new rides. If you have never been to Knott's Scary Farm, you
have to experience it.
Tickets are on sale
now and will continue throughout Nov. 3.
Knott's Scary Farm
opens at 7 p.m. and closes at 2 a.m. Be aware, though, some
rides stop running earlier than 2 a.m.
