Film Festival kicks off

The Long Beach
International Film Festival will be held Sept. 14-23 in two
area locations.
The festival, presented
by the Long Beach Film Foundation, will feature selected short
and feature films aboard the Queen Mary and also at the AMC
Theater on Pine Avenue.
Kicking off the
festival Friday is a screening and party showcasing "Seven
Girlfriends," starring Tim Daly at the AMC Theater. Other
events include a showing of the restored print
"Twin Kiddies," which was produced in Long Beach's Balboa
Studios in 1917.
Balboa Day will
include a special 90th birthday celebration for silent film
child star Marie Osborne-Yeats, who starred in "Twin
Kiddies" as Baby Marie.
On Sept. 23, the
Long Beach Film Foundation will present a lifetime achievement
award to Academy Award winner Cliff Robertson for his contributions
to acting and the motion picture industry.
