    HAWAIIAN GARDENS -- A 72-year-old man was arrested Thursday for making "verbal threats to several students" at an elementary school located behind his house, said Lt. Mike Barnum, a spokesman for the Lakewood Sheriff's Department.

  • 49ers dominate weekend invitational
    The Long Beach State women's volleyball team defended its home turf this weekend, sweeping the New Mexico State Aggies and the Nevada Wolf Pack in the LBSU Invitational at The Pyramid.
  • Fullerton edges Beach for victory
    The Long Beach State women's soccer team suffered a loss in its Big West Conference opener, falling 3-2 in overtime to rivals Cal State Fullerton Saturday at George Allen Field.
  • LBSU topples Princeton
    The Long Beach State men's water polo team took an early lead and turned it into a commanding 14-7 victory over No. 17 ranked Princeton University Friday at Campus Pool.
