Park where?

Staff reports

Parking lots at Cal State Long Beach became so impacted yesterday that a temporary parking area was opened for the first time in the university's history, according to Sandra Johnson of parking and transportation services.

"We didn't turn anyone away," said Alan Moore of parking and transportation services. "We moved the cars into an overflow area."

Cars were directed into the discus area near The Pyramid, an area that can hold approximately 200 cars. The area is not expected to be used today but possibly on Thursday, Johnson said.

The temporary overflow lot, above, which can hold up to 200 vehicles, was opened Tuesday when other campus lots became full.
