Fight erupts after Midnight Madness

By Jason Kosareff
Daily Forty-Niner

A fight between a 17-year-old male and about 15 others erupted immediately following the Midnight Madness basketball game Saturday at The Pyramid, University Police said.

The fight happened at about 1:20 a.m. Saturday when the victim, who could not be named because of his age, was approached by another individual and the two began fighting on the sidewalk outside the event, said to Capt. Stan Skipworth of University Police.

The other attackers jumped into the fight after seeing the two scuffle.

California Highway Patrol officers hosting a drunk driving information booth nearby broke up the fight.

The victim was treated for minor injuries by paramedics but refused further medical attention.

He also refused to identify his attackers.

"He was very uncooperative," Skipworth said.
