Musical ride offered

Radio station, KLON (88.1 FM), will sponsor its annual Blues Caravan to Long Beach music clubs on today from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Shuttles will start at each of the participating clubs and run every 20 minutes, according to a spokesman at the KLON radio station ticket office.

Participants may stay as long as they like at each of the clubs but should keep in mind that the last shuttle leaves at 1 a.m. on Friday morning. 

The lineup includes the following acts: 
 

  • Tommy Castro at Blue Café
  • Eric Sardinas at the Cohiba
  • Doug MacLeod and John ìJukeî Logan at Mumís
  • San Pedro Slim at M Bar & Grill
  • The Rhythm Lords at Rock Bottom Brewery
  • Barbara Morrison at Corriganís
  • King Ernest at the Golden Sails
  • Joe Houston at Belmont Station
  • The King Brothers at Phil Traniís
  • The Mike Elred Trio at the Juke Joint
  • Jeannie Holiday at the Golden Frog

    The caravan precludes the 20th annual Long Beach Blues Festival, which will take place Labor Day weekend, Sept. 4-6, at Cal State Long Beach campus.

    Tickets bought in advance are $12 ($10 for KLON members) and $15 at the door of participating clubs. 

    They can also be purchased through the KLON ticket office and at Ticketmaster locations at Tower Records, Robinsons-May and Ritmo Latino.

     

    Goo goo for Goo Goo
