A Cal State Long
Beach employee, charged with sexually assaulting a fellow employee, was
denied release by his own recognizance, during his July 28 hearing.
The attorney for
Jerome Galvin Cruz, 28, requested that his client be released under the
supervision of Cruz’s family. However, the judge denied the request, which
comes one week after Cruz pled not guilty to sexual battery.
Cruz’s bail is set
for $75,000 and remains in custody.
His preliminary hearing
is set for Aug. 3 at Long Beach Municipal Court.
