Summer road repairs continue

Various roads throughout Cal State Long Beach will be undergoing repair and/or replacement, according to Michael Kelly, assistant director of Planning and Design Services.

The roads will remain open during construction.  Traffic control personnel will be present to direct drivers and pedestrians through the construction zone.

According to Kelly, the start dates, as well as the approximate number of days required to complete each of the sites, are the contractor’s best-estimate based on the scope of the work to be completed and may be changed as work progresses.  The campus community will be notified if there is any major change in the schedule.

The project, coordinated by Physical Planning and Design Services, is scheduled to begin work on Monday, July 19 and should be completed in approximately 45 days.

Minor inconveniences may occur as with any construction project, according to Kelly, due to some noise and dust generated from demolition operations and odor resulting from the installation of the new asphalt.
