Mc Lachlan's album sane but different

Soulful Canadian
singer Sarah McLachlan has released a new album -- a live album.
However, it is a shame that the only way the listener can tell the difference
between McLachlan’s live album and her past studio recorded ones are the
random screams from the audience.
The similarity between
the two version is attributed to McLachlan’s amazing talent as a performer,
but begs the question of the purpose for the release of the new live album
titled “Mirrorball.”
A collection of her
past successful hits -- “Mirrorball” is a impressive work.
But, if the live
album “Mirrorball” is sometimes unrecognizable as live, why would anyone
want to buy it? Because it is Sarah McLachlan. If she sang with a musical
accompaniment of tissue paper and a comb she would still sound amazing.
While most of the
tracks on the album do not necessarily sound live there are a few that
take the listener right into the concert seats.
“Ice Cream”
shows McLachlan’s talent as a performer when she directs the audience in
their own singing of the chorus.
Added to the album
is the song “I Will Remember You,” a wonderful ballad from the “The Brothers
McMullen” soundtrack that was never on her previous albums.
With McLachlan ending
her sabbatical from recording new material, “Mirrorball” may be all the
fans have to get them through, but it is good enough.
