  • California Highway Patrol will be on maximum enforcement duty this holiday weekend beginning at 6 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m Tuesday. Drinking and driving should be avoided at all costs, CHP spokesperson said.

  • A Cal State Long Beach employee was arrested on campus June 25 by University Police for sexual assault, said Detective Scott Brown, an investigator assigned to the case.
