A Cal State Long Beach employee was arrested
on campus June 25 by University Police for sexual assault, said Detective
Scott Brown, an investigator assigned to the case.
Deputy District Attorney Leah Karr issued
a felony arrest warrant for Jerome Galvin Cruz, 28, charging him with sexually
assaulting a fellow employee, Brown said.
Cruz, an employee of the Parkside Commons
dining hall, had no plea at his June 29 arraignment.
His case was continued to July 13.
The victim pressed charges [on June 24]
... The DA felt that there was enough evidence for an arrest, said Brown,
who made the arrest at the dining hall. [Cruz] was cooperative.
No witnesses have come forward and no drugs
were involved, Brown said. |
