  • Summer session enrollment increases

  • Summer classes at Cal State Long Beach begin this week and offer more than 1,200 classes during three six-week sessions, giving students an opportunity to get a few more credits toward their degree. 
     
  • CSULB spreads HIV awareness

  • Cal State Long Beach is playing a significant role in the fight against the spread of HIV. Through the CSULB Center For Behavioral Research And Services people receive much needed information about HIV. The center informs high-risk individuals such as intravenous drug users, gay men and prostitutes, on how to protect themselves from HIV. 
     
  • Summer construction hits Seventh Street

  • Caltrans has begun construction work on Seventh Street and the bridges over the San Gabriel River and the Los Cerritos Channel.

  • 49er softball season ends in shut-out

  • The Long Beach State softball season ended May 22nd after being shut-out 3-0 by Oregon State at the NCAA Regional Tournament in Baton Rouge, La.
     
  • Pros draft 49ers

  • Senior left handed pitcher Mike Gallo was selected in the fifth round by the Houston Astros.
