The Writer's Resource Lab, located in LAB-209, hopes to welcome and help many more students on campus. It offers services on various subjects to enrolled students.

"We don't just deal with students that are in composition classes. This is not an English composition writing laboratory," Kevin Kolkmeyer, coordinator of the resource laboratory. "It is for all students in all disciplines who are working on writing assig nments."

This semester, the laboratory intends to reach students from all disciplines who have not yet heard about its programs.

According to a student information research conducted by the laboratory in fall 1995 semester, most visits were made by students enrolled in English 100 classes. They made 337 out of 1,344 visits recorded.

To spread the words to other students, tutors from the laboratory have begun visiting classes other than composition classes to spread the word about their services.

Flyers are also pasted throughout the campus to increase awareness among students about tutorials, peer response groups, workshops and computer sessions.

According to data collected in fall, there were 1,253 visits for one-on-one tutorials, which has now been extended from 30 minutes to 45 minutes.

Currently, there are 10 tutors available for appointments and students can make appointments by calling (310) 985-4329.
