On a sunny spring afternoon, the Cal State Long Beach women's tennis team scorched the University of Texan at Arlington giving up only one singles match to the lady mavericks.

With the win, the 49er continue their six-game winning streak improving their record 12-2.

The two losses came in the fashion of a 9-0 blowout against the University of San Diego and a close 3-6 clinching sage against the always competitive Loyola Marymount University on their own courts.

In the 12 cumulative wins, the 49ers have lost a total of only 10 matches against their opponents. They have never lost more than two games in a single meeting.

The team as a whole disposed of the lady Mavericks very easily by not giving up a single game to the University of Texas at Arlington.

Farrah Tierney and Dianne Asis both won two close matches for the 49ers, while Chris Joseph, Jennifer Shoudt and Veronica Selby all scored easy wins for CSULB.

The 49ers dropped one doubles match to the lady Mavericks, while the Chris Joseph/Dianne Asis team and the Jennifer Shoudt and Aida Orejel team both improved their records to 9-2 and 6-3 respectively.

The team will embark on a short road trip to Cal State Northridge and the University of Nevada for the Nevada Tournament during the first week of April.
