The Academic Senate of Cal State Long Beach elected its new leadership for the 1995-96 school year.
Professor David Hood of history will serve as the chairman for the faculty body, replacing Professor Dorothy Goldish, who served as the moderator and director for three years. Goldish will remain a member of the Academic Senate and as a temporary member on its executive committee during a transitional period into the fall.
Goldish said the experience of leading the organization responsible for representing all faculty interests in policy and university affairs was both rewarding and trying. Asked if she had any advice for Hood, Goldish said, "Clear most of the things off your calendar because its going to get full with [Academic Senate] business."
Officers were also elected to the following executive board positions: Mike Mahoney of computer engineering and science to the vice-chair, Simeon Crowther of economics as recording secretary, and Patricia Rozee and Jack Munsee, of psychology and physics respectively, as members of the executive committee at-large.
