Although more than 18 complaints have to be reviewed by the Associated Students Election Committee and may have to be heard by the Judiciary Committee, Carl Kemp was unoffically elected president and Michael Barrett as vice-president.

A run-off election for A.S. treasurer will take place between Alvaro Castillo, who had 41.8 percent of the vote, and Jen Smith with 23.0 percent of the vote.

Both Kemp and Barett received more than 50 percent of students votes.

Kemp, who recieved 1,955 votes, defeated his closest competition, A.S. Sen. Steve Negley by more than 900 votes.

Barett's closest competition came from Fatima Casteneda, who had over 600 fewer votes.

"I feel great. It's such a relief that I don't have to go through a run off," Barett said. I've been here from 6:30 p.m to 9:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday."

Kemp credited all candidates for strong campaigning and the A.S Elections Committee for the 4,000 plus students who voted during the three-day elections, which is a signifacant increase over the last A.S. election.

"Students were responsible campus citizens," Kemp said. "Everybody ran a good race and the Election Committee did a good job."
