Here it is: another sparkling, shiny new year full of promis e. Yet, we will have to deal with issues and problems this year, just as there has been in years gone by.
The Daily Forty-Niner is committed to providing a forum for students and faculty. Our opinion page needs letters. If you have a problem, a qu andary, a dilemma, an issue or an opinion on anything dealing with this university, or even something national or international, you can contact or write to the opinion editor.
The editors of the Forty-Niner encourage letters to the editor from re aders who want to voice their reaction to articles in the paper or topics of interest.
The Forty-Niner is here to serve the campus community and provide an opportunity for readers to speak their minds - whether they agree or disagree with the paper 's coverage.
Readers have often been drawn to write about our editorials. The column on the opinion page each day expresses the position of the student editors of the Forty-Niner, but we would really like to see letters to the editor not bound to o ne realm.
Many things are happening in the world, in our country and on our campus that do need to be addressed. Sometimes we at the Forty-Niner will overlook an issue that needs to be explained and dissected.
Further, the opinion page tradit ionally has an editorial cartoon. Sometimes we run out of both cartoonists and cartoons. So, if you have the talent and any degree of human outrage, or if you just have the degree of human outrage and don't like to write, contact the Forty-Niner.
