Big market for booze in Long Beach
The city of Long Beach was recently voted
No.1 in parks and recreation. That is not surprising, considering the city
has more parks than banks, hotels and sports teams put together.

The city, in spite of its verdant appearance,
has many other things within its borders. There are also many liquor stores.
In fact, if there is not a park on the corner, it's probably a liquor store,
and vice versa.
Now what does that say about our fair city?
It says that it is a pretty kickback place to live.
This is evident in that no one really bothers
you, unless you are truly obnoxious. There are no losers who want to fight
you just because you looked in their general direction.
The other thing this insinuates about our
city is that the people who live here are a bunch of drunks. We all know
that is not entirely true. Not all of us living within the city limits
are complete lushes.
But there must obviously be a large market
for alcohol consumption in the city. There is even a large portion of a
city street that has more bars than you can shake a stick at. You couldn't
throw a boomerang on Second Street in Belmont Shore without hitting at
least three different watering holes.
At least Long Beach residents are pretty
relaxed. With all the beautiful parks, the beach and all the alcohol distribution
outlets, how could anyone be stressed?
