She has been a member of the U.S. National women's volleyball team since 1994 and played on the U.S. Olympic team in Atlanta in 1996.

49er ATHLETIC HALL OF FAME

Former two time 49er All-American volleyball player Danielle Scott, who lead The Beach to its second national championship in 1993, is our final athlete to be featured as part of the 49er Athletic Hall of Fame, 1999 class.

Scott was chosen as the AVCA Player of the year in 1993 and holds school records for block assists (470) and hitting percentage (.421).

She also set a single-season record for attack ratio at .452 percent in 1992.

"My four years at Long Beach State went really great," Scott said. "I was surrounded by a lot of great people who were really supportive."

Scott even tried her  skills at track and field during her senior year, where she missed making the all-conference team in the long jump event by one inch.

Scott is the ninth women's volleyball player to be inducted into the 49er Athletic Hall of Fame and the third player who has played under current LBSU Head Coach Brian Gimmillaro.

Currently Scott is playing professionally in Brazil and is expected to be a member of the U.S. Olympic team in 2000.
