'Deuce' humorous

Daily Forty-Niner

Gigolo (n.) -- a man, often a prostitute, who is the lover of a woman and is supported by her.
Bigalow (p.n.) -- rhymes with gigolo.

MOVIE REVIEW: A-

Touchstone Pictures' latest comedy "Deuce Bigalow, Male Gigolo" stars Rob Schneider (Big Daddy) as Deuce Bigalow, a down-and-out fish tank cleaner who just got fired from his lackluster job at the Los Angeles Aquarium.

In the classic style of the movie's executive producer Adam Sandler, things begin to look up for Bigalow when he is asked to housesit for a world-class high-priced gigolo, played by Oded Fehr ("The Mummy").

But Bigalow soon finds himself in trouble after breaking a hand crafted $6,000 fish tank. And the only way to pay for the tank was for Bigalow to become a gigolo.

The new man-whore soon dates the same sleek stylish ladies as his debonair predecessor.

Well, sort of.

Some of the women did have some issues, but Bigalow soon finds himself rolling in the dough, at least until he falls for one of his clients, played by Arija Bareikis ("30 Days").

With a debt to pay and love in the way, Bigalow finds himself in a deeper mess.

This in-your-face comedy is full of good self-aware toilet humor.

Schneider, who co-wrote the script, leaves nothing to the imagination with his poopy-flying, bare-butt antics.

Director Mike Mitchell makes his feature film debut and does an excellent job keeping the audience entertained.

"Deuce Bigalow, Male Gigolo" is a laugh-out-loud comedy that gives new meaning to male prostitution.
