A pretrial hearing has been set for a Cal
State Long Beach employee arrested on campus for possession of a controlled
substance, a spokeswoman for the district attorney's office said.
Andy Guimary, a Facilities Management maintenance
mechanic, will make his first Long Beach superior court appearance at the
Dec. 16 hearing, said Patti Joe, the Long Beach district attorney's head
secretary.
University Police had arrested the 42-year-old
Nov. 8 for failure to appear in court on a charge of driving with a suspended
license, police said.
After searching Guimary, police found .63
grams of methamphetamine on his person, University Police Chief Jack Pearson
said.
Guimary was then charged with felony possession
of a controlled substance, Pearson said.
Guimary still works for the university,
said Leslie Nix-Baker, employee relations director.
Guimary, who has not yet entered a plea,
posted a $36,000 bond and was released from police custody shortly after
his arrest, police said. |
