A former Cal State Long Beach employee,
charged with four counts of sexual assault, is scheduled to begin his trial
later this month, according to the pretrial conference Tuesday.
The trial date for Jerome Galvin Cruz,
28, was scheduled for Dec. 15. However, according to Cruz's attorney, it
may start Dec. 23 or 27.
Cruz has been incarcerated since June after
University Police arrested him on campus under the suspicion of sexually
assaulting a fellow worker.
The beginning of the trial marks the end
of numerous pretrial postponements, which, according to Cruz's attorney,
were needed to gather more evidence. |
