Many reasons to be thankful
It happens every year at the same time. Either before or after Thanksgiving
someone tells us how we should be thankful all year long.
And at Christmas time, it never fails. Columnists tell us how we should
be caring and generous every day, not just in December.

In honor of the beginning of the holiday season, we are going to let
students know what they can be thankful for throughout the seasons.
We will start at the beginning of the holiday season, I suppose.
The month of November gives college students many reasons to be thankful.
First, there is the big holiday. Thanksgiving dinners with the family
may or may not be a good thing.
But the opportunity to fill our empty refrigerators with the traditional
leftovers will ease the burden on our wallets.
Plus it is a time when we get a much-needed vacation between midterms
and finals.
And with that vacation, we get the realization that the semester is
almost complete.
Then December rolls along.
The semester ends.
We are all thankful for that, aren't we?
And for those of us that have winter session, at least the parking on
campus is better.
And winter break is just one long party. We must not take that for granted.
The spring finds us back in school. But the days are becoming warmer.
The best the semester can offer us is a weeklong break from the campus
rut.
Spring break is one of the only salvations for the semester.
Other things to be thankful for are Easter baskets, flowers and warm
weather.
And The Beach has its own rewards in spring.
Summer has it's own uniqueness to be thankful for.
It offers college students a chance to get back to the beach.
Classes are out.
People have barbecues just because they have too much charcoal.
Men and women become more flirtatious and wear less clothing.
It is just a great time to take vacations, road trips and do some soul
searching.
Now we come back to the fall. It's starting to get cold again.
If you got the hook-ups at the summer barbecue pool parties, then you
have more and more opportunities to snuggle and make a little loving in
the cooler months.
There really are many reasons to be thankful all year long.
It is just a matter of looking for them sometimes. We hope this has
helped you realize the things you take for granted and has made you want
to do better.
