  • Student voice grows

  • One more student representative will be added to the California State University Board of Trustees, a California State Student Association press release reported.
     
  • All-nighters endanger some

  • To pack their brains with facts or pound out papers, students are doing more than sipping coffee or popping pills. But regardless of the weapon used to slay the sleep enemy, all-nighters seem to have negative effects.
     
  • Students need MMR shots to enroll

  • The most important form Cal State Long Beach students might fill out this semester probably will not be that finals Scantron in their English 100 class, but their MMR clearance form at Student Health Services.
     
  • Honor society opens doors to new members

  • By the end of the year, Beta Alpha Psi, a Cal State Long Beach honor society for accounting students, may need a larger office.

  • The Academic Affairs' Council of Deans and the Executive Committee of the Academic Senate will be reviewing nominations to appoint a principal investigator as the newest member of CSULB Foundation Board of Directors.

  • University Police and the campus athletic department are quickly merging into the fast lane of the Information Super Highway.

  • Parents not laws must secure guns

  • The outbreak of gun violence in schools around the country has prompted a Southland Assemblyman to write a bill that would hold gun owners criminally liable for students caught with guns on campus.
     
  • Bookstore policy bites students in wallet

  • I think some big bucks must be being made on textbooks these days, judging by the way booksellers are at one anotherís throats and by the size of the check I recently wrote in the University Bookstore.
  • Limp Bizkit's sound critiqued

  • Limp Bizkit has exploded with its second album,"Significant Other," and established its heavy metal and hip-hop mixture as one of the biggest styles in American contemporary music.
     
  • Singin the Blues

  • Cal State Long Beach played host to thousands of music fans attending the 20th annual KLON Long Beach Blues Festival last Labor Day weekend.
