A Cal State Long Beach employee arrested
on campus recently for a misdemeanor warrant and later found to be in possession
of methamphetamine was released from jail after posting a $36,000 bond,
police said Thursday.
University Police booked 42-year-old Long
Beach resident Andy Guimary, a Facilities Management maintenance mechanic,
for a warrant after he failed to appear in court on a driving with a suspended
license charge, said David Marander of the Long Beach Police Department.
"As they were booking him at the [Long
Beach City] jail, officers found .63 gram of [methamphetamine]," said Detective
Fernando Solorzano of University Police.
Guimary was charged with possession of
a controlled substance and on the warrant charges, said Jack Pearson, University
Chief of Police.
Possession of a controlled substance in
California is a felony, Solorzano said. |
