POLICE LOG
University Police offers a daily list of reports
accessible for public viewing to inform citizens of incidents that have
occurred within the Cal State Long Beach community.
Nov. 8

Several students reported cash stolen from
their purses in NUR-36. Police have no suspects.

A 1998 Toyota Tercel was hit by another vehicle
while it was stopped at a stop sign on West Campus Drive. The accident
occurred at 5:30 p.m. There were no injuries.
Nov. 9
-
Several 9-1-1 calls were made about a woman
screaming from the Social Sciences/Public Affairs Building at 9:47 a.m.
The woman had been acting out a violent scenario with a male student for
a journalism class.
Two police cars responded to the calls.
Police advised the professor to notify
them in the future of such exercises.

Police received complaints of a 30-year-old
man trying to coerce women into talking to him as they walked by.
The 6-foot-3-inch, 250-pound man had already
left the scene when police arrived at Lot 7 near the Theatre Arts Building.
Nov. 10

A 35mm Nikon camera was reported stolen from
the victim's unlocked office in Fine Arts Building 3 between Nov. 4 and
6. Loss is estimated at $700.

An attempted auto burglary on a 1989 Honda
Civic occurred in Lot 9, near the University Police department, at 8:55
p.m. The suspect had tried to pry the trunk and passenger door locks open.
Nov. 13

A 1999 Acura Integra was stolen from Lot 20.
The victim did not know the car had been missing until Sheriffs found the
car in Lakewood and notified the victim's mother. The car was stripped.
Nov. 15
-
Two hundred dollars was reported stolen out
of the locked closet of a Parkside Commons room.
University Police said the theft
occurred Nov. 14 from about 1 to 5 p.m.
-
A Los Cerritos Hall resident reported receiving
obscene phone calls from an unknown male.
