Free ride for famous

Talk about fame and power buying get out of jail free cards. Saturday, Minneapolis sheriffs pulled over a Minnesota senator's son, the Associated Press reported.

After searching the vehicle, the deputy found 10 bags of marijuana inside a rental car rented under the name of Sen. Rod Grams.

The driver, Morgan Grams was also found to be on probation and driving without a license, but he was never charged with a crime.

How's that for look-the-other way days. And to top it off, the chief deputy gave him a ride home.

Now even if Grams, the younger, was only carrying the marijuana for personal or medicinal purposes, there is no need to have it separated into 10 different bags.

It is clear he planned to distribute the narcotic.

If all it takes to avoid drug trafficking charges is having a senator for a father, then why not elect all of your family and friends to positions of power.

When was the last time the police pulled you over, found three crimes of which you are obviously guilty, and instead of filing charges against you, decided to offer you a ride home?

Maybe this is why Minnesota has such a low crime rate.

If the police never charge the criminals, then they will never have a crime rate.

What a novel approach.

At least those cops are not entrenched in controversy like the Los Angeles Police Department. But if this keeps up, they will be.
