College tuition too high
Tuition costs in higher education are rising
much faster than wages and income.
This is a direct challenge to all of as
students and as student leaders.
If this trend is not stopped, it will force
many students out of higher education and a growing proportion other students
into even deeper debt .
The increasing cost of tuition narrows
access to higher education.
It has a disproportionate impact on black,
Latino and working class and poor students of all races.
If we stand together we have the power
to turn this situation around.
Some representative bodies have already
spoken out against the upward spiral of education costs.
But our decisions lack power in isolation.
The time has come to break that isolation.
If we stand together for our interests,
we can have a great effect.
