Crime Log

The University Police prepares a daily list of the reports accessible for public viewing that informs citizens of incidents that have occurred within the Cal State Long Beach community.

The following is a summary of the reported crimes and suspcious activities.
 

  • University Police stopped an unlicensed driver at 11 a.m. for a traffic violation.  
As he was talking with officers, the 1998 Honda's registered owner approached them. After a conversation, police discovered the man had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant for traffic violations. He was arrested and the Honda was towed.
  •  A 12:30 p.m. traffic collision between a 1995 Ford passenger car and a University Parking Services truck resulted in minor damage to the vehicles and no injuries.
  • A bicycle was stolen from the bike racks outside of  Vivian Engineering Center. 
  • A bicycle was stolen from the bike racks outside of Brotman Hall.
The theft of a purse around 6 p.m. from the University Library resulted in a loss of $20.


OCT. 22

  • A man smashed his hand in the elevator doors in the University Student Union around noon. 

  • The man refused paramedic assistance and treated the wound with an icepack. 

OCT. 25
  • An orange terra cotta tree was stolen from outside a Music Center office over the weekend.

  • The neglected 85-pound tree had been donated to the department and was being nursed back to health, said Greg Pascal, police spokesman.
     

  • A woman reported her car's headlight had been smashed in Lot 9 sometime in the afternoon.
