Stress eats at students

With midterms quickly descending upon us, we students are beginning to feel the burden of struggling through classes. We allow the stress to ruin our otherwise carefree lives.

As students, we sometimes forget that we are still young. We place so much importance on our schoolwork that we may forget to de-stress and have fun.

Of course we do need to make studying a priority because we are paying a pretty penny for this outstanding education. Actually, we are probably paying a pretty dime or quarter for our education, but who needs to stress over a few more cents?

What we are trying to get at is that school is costly and something that we are going to do for a relatively short time. There is really no reason to stress over deadlines or assignments.

Yes, grades are important while you are here, but once out in the real world, are your prospective employers really going to look at your report card? Not really.

The more important issue is what you learned while matriculated at Cal State Long Beach. If you missed a few assignments or turned them in late, you may not pass the class, but you can still walk away with all the necessary knowledge.

So don't stress over those individual assignments. If you turn them in late or not at all, it's not that big of a deal. Just make sure you understand the basic information.

Remember to have fun because, after all, these are supposed to be the best years of our lives.
