For the bewitching season, the Biological
Students Association at Cal State Long Beach will revive the skeletons
from laboratories for its Haunted House starting today.
"Be prepared to get scared,"
said Katie Yonos, a senior majoring in biology. Yonos is working as one
of the Haunted House project members.
The biological association emphasized that
this year's house is accessible to the disabled such
as people in a wheelchair. "It's [Haunted
House] been a tradition in the department of biological science,"
said Kevin Kelly, assistant professor at the Department of Biological Science.
"Biologists know how to make gruesome things."
"Haunted House is just to scare people,"
said Lyn Albano, a senior majoring in biology and vice president of the
association.
Although CSULB President Robert Maxson
has visited the house before, Albano said he would not return again.
"He [Maxson] is too chicken to come,"
Albano said.
The association only revealed the tentative
idea of the house. It will consist of two to three rooms, including a maze
and two exits, Albano said.
"We use human skeletons from anatomy laboratory,"
Kelly said.
Yonos said the biological association expects
about 2,000 visitors during the week. Haunted House will be located at
PH2-122. It will be open from 1 to 7 p.m., Monday through Thursday; 1 p.m.
to 5 p.m. on Friday. Admission is $1.
The revenue from the house will benefit
the department and a number of activities for the students, Kelly said. |
