  • Governor Gray Davis signed a bill Oct. 10 that forces California State University faculty members to pay partial union dues, whether or not they belong to the faculty union.

  • It was another split this weekend for the Long Beach State women's soccer team. The 49ers defeated Cal State Fullerton (2-1) but lost to UC Irvine (3-1).

  • Long Beach State outhit, had more blocks and more digs, and just simply outplayed the competition in Idaho with wins over Idaho and Boise State this past weekend.
