Rapper favored, but not realistic

In response to Wes Woods IIís article "I want Snoop on Campus," I have to say I am completely down with having Snoop Dogg perform in The Pyramid.

I'll admit that although I may be "pretty fly for a white guy" I love Long Beach as well. In fact I pay more money a month for parking citations than I pay for rent.

I have crossed my index and middle fingers in the form of a cherished ìWî so tightly that I've had to have them surgically separated.

The bottom line is that it has taken five years and four presidents before me to be able to break through the stereotypes, bureaucracy and apprehensions that the university has held in the past in orderto have a concert of any kind in The Pyramid.

We gradually need to phase in the "controversial" acts so we don't destroy five years of effort and so we can establish The Pyramid as a reputable concert venue.

I want to thank everyone involved from the Associated Students Inc. and USU Program Council to the University Police and Staff Pro for making the concert Monday in the Student Union a dynamic event.

I was all fired up when Opie Ortiz dedicated "Bad Fish" to deceased Sublime singer Bradley Nowell' who used to perform in The Nugget, and I am looking forward to seeing more of them in the future.

So Woods, we find ourselves in agreement.
