Stop abusive relations
Women in our country have the right not to
be abused. Many choose to live with this violence in spite of "knowing
better."
Whatever the case may be, they should not
be surprised when the violence escalates.
Last Sunday a Long Beach man turned himself
into the Paramount Sheriffís station, telling deputies that he hurt his
two children.
Henry James White then led deputies to
a trash bin behind his North Long Beach apartment, where the bodies were
found wrapped in plastic.
The children's mother, Yolanda Ruffin,
said she never thought White would hurt the children despite White's hitting
her while the couple was married, according to an article in the Los Angeles
Times.
The story also said White had made several
phone calls and told his estranged wife she was "going to regret what was
going to happen for the rest of her life."
Sorry, but when your violent estranged
husband has your kids and threatens you, you should automatically think
of the safety of your children.
Now Ruffin wants to tell women in abusive
relationships to "get out because the man's never going to change."
A woman can never expect a man to change
his behavior, whether good or bad.
If a woman is in an abusive relationship,
she does need to get out. And she should pack her bags the very first chance
she gets.
Some women think "he won't do it again"
or "I can't do any better." That is a bunch of bull.
We hope you have the courage and the ability
to leave an abusive relationship before tragedy strikes. |
