	Prof. angry about CFA story Dear 49er, I was very troubled by the front-page report, "CFA angry over raise process" (9/23/99), which reportedly originated from the e-mail complaint of one lone faculty member who does not want to be identified.   I urge the Daily Forty-Niner  to carefully investigate such complaints before publicly smearing anyone on our campus.    My experience to date is that the chairs, deans, and administrators here are working very hard to adhere to both the spirit and the letter of the new faculty contract.    Merit pay was included in a contract approved overwhelmingly by the faculty statewide.
