Gladys Garcia
Instructor
FO3-309
985-2482
Gladys Garcia currently teaches CHLS 205 and 405 as well as composition courses in the English Department.  She first came to CSULB in 1986 as an instructor of ESL, which she has taught now for many years.  One of her great pleasures is keeping in touch with many of her former ESL students, some of whom now live as far away as Saudi Arabia.

Her interest in diverse literatures arises naturally from her first-hand experiences of having lived in different cultures and different countries.  She first became interested in literature during her teenage years in New Orleans, Louisiana, where she attended high school.  Later she pursued her studies in Canada and in France.  For a time she lived in Oviedo in northern Spain and during some of the pre-Castro years in Havana, Cuba.

To disseminate information about the Amnesty Reform Law, Gladys, working on a grant from the Ford Foundation, has produced a video in conjunction with Rancho Santiago Community College and CSULB foundation.
