Project
1: Resume and Job Application Letter For this project you will develop a resume and job application letter addressed to a real person for a real job in an organization where you might actually seek employment. If you graduate this year, you will probably want to apply for a full-time, permanent position. If not, you may want to apply for an internship. The following items for project one need to be turned in via e-mail on February 13 at 6:30pm:
Once you have found a job that interests you, you will need to find out about the organization. The Career Development Center or CSULB Library may have brochures about the organization. The organization will probably also have a Web site. If the job ad doesn't indicate to whom your application should be addressed, call the organization's switchboard and ask for the name of the employment director or manager of the particular department where you are applying. It is not acceptable to address a job application letter to "to whom it may concern." For specific guidelines on writing your resume and job application letter, see Chapter 2 of our book. Please also review the resources for Project 1 for help in completing this project.
