Christian Bracher Born and educated in Munich, Germany, Christian studied physics at the Technical University in Munich and received his Diploma in 1995. He continued his graduate studies there; his thesis on "Quantum Ballistic Motion and its Applications," a theoretical study of the properties of electron waves subject to acceleration in an electric field, earned him a doctoral degree in 1999. In the following years, Christian accepted several postdoctoral positions that led him to the Max-Planck-Institute for Quantum Optics in Garching, Germany; Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada; and most recently to the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, where he performed research on problems in quantum optics and statistical mechanics. Following a year working as a lecturer at Bryn Mawr College in Pennsylvania, he joined the Department of Physics and Astronomy at CSULB in 2006. His current research interest are the classical, semiclassical, and quantum aspects of electronic motion in electric and magnetic fields. |
