We primarily study the gene regulatory networks leading to formation of the skeleton in echinoderm embryos and how evolution of these gene regulatory networks occurs in related animals. We currently study both sea urchins and brittle stars. We also study: ¨ Matrix metalloproteinases expressed during development ¨ Evolution of genes involved in biomineralization ¨ Genomics and proteomics of echinoderms
We are currently looking for graduate students and undergraduate students to join the lab. The lab is currently funded by the National Science Foundation. |
