Events

Over the years, with the help of students, faculty and staff we have put together a series of programs that have aimed at educating and raising awareness for various Chicano and Latino issues. Below is a brief on some of those projects:

Dec. 2005
California Mexico Project
Be there as history is made ...
June 2004
Political Roast - Fabian Nuñez
The CSULB Chicano and Latino Studies Department is proud to present the 4th Annual Latino Political Roast to raise scholarship and development funds for its graduate and study abroad programs. During the last 3 years, the department has awarded scholarships to over 60 students that traveled to study in Cuba, Puerto Rico and Mexico from previous “roast” proceeds, alumni donations and our event sponsors.
March 2003
High School Blow-Outs
The conference is intended to celebrate this important milestone and to share the personal experience of many of the protagonists of the 1968 "Blowouts", with college and high school students, faculty and community activists in attendance.
