Opening a Data File

To open an existing data file that is stored on a disk, point the cursor to the file folder icon on the SPSS toolbar, and double-click.


SPSS will open a file selection menu. You must indicate:

  1. the input device the computer will use to read the data file.
    Select the A as the disk drive.
  2. the name of your data file.
    The file name is: V72-92.sav.
Completion of the Assignment One will require that you use the "A" drive as the appropriate input device, as the illustration indicates (occassionaly, you may use a computer which reads 5" floopy disks; in that case, "B" will be the appropriate disk drive).
